The letter below is an example of the appreciation many businesses have for the way they are treated, and the help they receive from the staff at WorkSource.

A Business's Appreciation for WorkSource Columbia Gorge

Several months ago I approached Mary Harper at WorkSource, looking for help in hiring qualified staff for my new business. Immediately Mary offered all her support and shared with me the possibility of finding some staff through the training for work program.

I interviewed over 12 candidates for the various positions I had open. During this process I met two incredible girls: Adrianne and Nereyda. Nereyda had no previous experience and Addie's experience was very limited, but both of them had a huge desire to succeed.

Immediately I felt excited about being part of this program. As a business person, the financial benefit for my new business was very attractive. However my main reason was to have the opportunity to train these two young girls and help prepare them for the future.

During this program, I saw them growing personally and professionally. During this journey we had some ups and downs. I am sure at times both sides felt frustrated. However we finished the program on a very good note.

After almost 4 months of training I decided to hire both of them as part of my team. I am really proud of them. I am sure this is just their first step in their "professional lives".

This program is great contribution to the community. I am really thankful and proud of being part of the program, and to be able to provide some support to my community.
